The inspiration for this design was the Grim Reaper. All of the black on the painting was actually sharpie markers, it took a lot of passes to get a streak free even finish. The gray was our favorite paint, Golden acrylic, perfect for our dry brushing technique.
This painting is part of our yearly Day of the Dead tradition, where we let the holiday inspire us to create an original piece to commemorate the holiday and the start of our artistic journey collaborating as DFRNT.
